Why Might You Call Us?

You don’t have to be in physical danger or ready to leave your partner to call our hotline. There is no wrong reason to reach out. Here are just a few reasons people call us every single day:

1. “I need a safe place to sleep tonight.”

If you or your children are unsafe at home and need immediate protection, we can arrange safe, emergency housing at our shelter.

2. “I’m thinking about leaving, but I don’t know how to do it safely.”

Leaving an abusive relationship is often the most dangerous time. We work with you to build a practical, confidential, step-by-step safety plan tailored to your life.

3. “I was sexually assaulted and I don’t know what to do next.”

Whether an assault happened hours ago or years ago, we provide immediate crisis counseling, hospital accompaniment, and forensic evidence guidance.

4. “I have a court date or need a protective order, and I’m terrified to go alone.”

You don’t have to navigate the legal system by yourself. Our advocates can accompany you to court, sit beside you, and support you through legal proceedings.

5. “I’m worried about how this is affecting my children.”

Abuse impacts the whole family. We offer specialized counseling, school stability support, and basic needs for youth and teens.

6. “I’m not ready to leave—I just need someone who understands.”

You never have to justify calling us. If you are feeling overwhelmed, confused, walking on eggshells, or just need to talk to a compassionate human being who won’t judge you, we are here to listen.

7. “I’m worried about a friend, family member, or coworker.”

If someone you love is in an unhealthy or dangerous relationship and you don’t know how to help them without putting them in danger, our advocates can guide you on the best ways to support them.
