Standing With the Eastern Shore. Rebuilding Lives.
For years, the Eastern Shore Coalition Against Domestic Violence has been a sanctuary for survivors across Accomack and Northampton counties. We exist to ensure no one faces abuse alone.
Rooted in Community, Dedicated to Safety
Domestic and sexual violence doesn’t discriminate, and it doesn’t stay behind closed doors. On the Eastern Shore of Virginia, ESCADV serves as a vital lifeline—providing 24/7 crisis intervention, emergency shelter at Hope Harbor, court advocacy, and long-term housing solutions.
We believe that every person has an inherent right to live free from violence, fear, and coercion. From immediate crisis response to empowering survivors as they take back their independence, our work is grounded in dignity, respect, and unconditional support.
Our Mission
To support and empower survivors of domestic and sexual abuse while delivering community education programs that break the cycle of violence across the Eastern Shore.
Our Core Values
Survivor Centered: You are the expert on your own life. We support your choices without judgment.
Uncompromising Confidentiality: Your safety and privacy are protected at every single step.
Local Impact: We are built by and for Accomack and Northampton counties. Every dollar and resource stays local.
Our Vision
An Eastern Shore where every home is safe, every survivor is supported, and every person lives free from fear and abuse.
